Question by lhodd: How can you remove lime build-up in and around your shower drain?
I have very thick lime build up in my shower drain and some on top of the drain cover as well as along some of the grout lines around the tiled shower floor. How do I safely get rid of this. We have used Lime Away previously as well as CLR. Many have suggested vinegar and one suggested Muriatic acid.
Any good advice/experience will help. Thanks.

The buildup is more likely soap that just lime. Soaps react with calcium in water to form hard scales that can be difficult to remove. You can remove most of the scale with a razor blade scraper and the rest will come off with a shower and tub cleaner that is formulated for soap scum.
