What can I paint my shower stall ceiling with?

Question by Jikaru: What can I paint my shower stall ceiling with?
I have to repaint my shower ceiling every year. I leave the window open 80% of the time.

Any advice?

First I’d scrape off any loose paint still clinging to your ceiling. Then I would buy a high quality latex primer specifically for bathrooms (moist areas). Then I would invest in a good ceiling fan to remove the moisture that builds up while you shower. Keep the ceiling fan on for at least twenty minutes after you have turned the water off. This should alleviate this problem.

Remove the wallboard, put in high-grade tile backing (I forget what it’s called), and tile the ceiling. The wallboard’s probably in bad shape already.

Try a paint called Kilz, it is good in damp areas. Make sure your ceiling is dry when you paint it, do it when you can skip a shower day to give it time to dry
